Carrie Urbanelli, PRESIDENT
Ms. Urbanelli began her career at an MGU in 2001, where she was an underwriter and claims analyst for a prescription drug program. In 2003, she was promoted to stop-loss underwriter and remained in this position until she joined Montgomery Management in January 2005. In January 2006, she was promoted to Director of Underwriting, the Chief Underwriting Officer before becoming President in 2015. She has a BBA degree from Temple University, where she dual majored in Risk Management & Insurance and Human Resource Management. In 2004, Ms. Urbanelli received her MBA degree with a concentration in Insurance and has completed three of eight courses toward her CEBS designation.
Teresa Brinkman, Chief Operations Officer
Ms. Brinkman received her Administrative Assistant/Business degree from Bath Path College in Long Meadow, MA. She displayed her qualifications as a reliable, determined team oriented professional with exceptional leadership and communication skills as Vice President – Client services for Diversified Group Administrators, Inc. in Houston, PA for twenty years and Vice President of Marketing & Reporting Services for MCA Administrators, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA. Teresa was with MCA for nine years before joining Montgomery Management.
Beth Freeman, Chief Underwriting Officer
Ms. Beth graduated with honors from Arcadia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a minor Mathematics in 1994, and has completed the HIAA program. She began her career at a TPA in 1994 and then moved to MMC in 1997. She began as a Senior Underwriter and was promoted to CUO in 2005. She left MMC in 2008 to move to Berkley Accident & Health as an Underwriting Manager for the direct writer. In July 2015, Beth came back to MMC as Chief Underwriting Officer. Beth has over 20 years of stop-loss experience that includes leading underwriting departments in both direct carrier and MGU environments, as well as working in the TPA arena.
Fay Mecke, Vice President of Claims/Medical Management
Ms. Mecke received her Associate Degree in Accounting from Kansas City Business College in 1977 and received her Paralegal Certification in 1991 from Main Line Paralegal in Wayne, PA. Fay has worked in the insurance industry since 1980. She started her career at Lincoln National Life Insurance, as a claims examiner, and was promoted to Trainer/Auditor in 1982. Her next career move was to Reliance Standard Life Insurance where she processed Long Term Disability. In 1993 she was hired by NRG to process run-off stop-loss claims. She joined Montgomery Management in 1995 as a Stop-Loss Auditor. She was promoted to Sr. Stop-Loss Auditor in 1996 and Director of Claims in January 2006. In January 2007, Fay was promoted to Vice President of Claims. 2013 the Medical Management Department began and has helped save our TPA and Clients in excess of $1.4 million per year.
Chris Cooper, Executive Vice President of Sales
Mr. Cooper has worked in the self -funding industry for over 30 years. His insurance career began in 1984 with Employee Benefit Administrators (TPA) in the position of Sales Manager and was promoted to Vice President. He then joined Employee Benefit Plan in 1993 as the Vice President of Marketing where he was responsible for the sales and marketing results for five satellite offices. In 1994, he founded Titan Intermediaries, Incorporated. His company was developed as a full service insurance agency through which Third Party Administrators, brokers and employers could receive stop loss coverage proposals from a number of carriers provided through a single source. Mr. Cooper joined Montgomery Management in August 2001 as the Vice President of Sales. He graduated in 1979 from Ohio State University where he earned a BA.
Ted Sardinia, Vice President of Sales
Mr. Ted Sardinia has been in the insurance business for 26 years. After graduating from Canisius College in 1979, he started his insurance career with The Hartford Insurance Group on the individual side. After two years, he transferred to the group department. In 1986, Ted became the Regional Sales Manager and later the Regional Sales Director for Life of Georgia/ING. Ted was an affiliate partner marketing stop loss in the Southeast for Alliance Underwriters before joining Montgomery Management in 2006. Ted will continue to cover the Southeast for Montgomery Management.
